The big Annual Award. Calling All Young Artists for the Malaysia Top 10 Outstanding Young Artist Award 2012. Participate in the art competition in conjunction with the release of Disney-Pixar’s Brave. Had ended.

YES! ENDED!

A month of work, from scratch until the day of the competition. & killed another forest.

First it was getting through the qualification challenge, well it was easy but nervous at the same time. Brainstorming in class, managed to finish it before the due date. Still remember how dreadful I was when begging for the confirmation letter to arrive, waited & waited, waited & waited.... & finally, a letter in my mailbox, God blessed & woohoo! Got through the qualification challenge of designing "BRAVE", I was officially the shortlisted participant of the Young Artists Award. 


Putting aside the confirmation letter, time to kill trees! This year's topic for the On-The-Spot Competition, it's "Design Your Own Brave Local Hero" . My heart stopped pumping for a sec, the next sec I jumped ten meters high, rolled on my bed, & screamed silent. Designing character? Am I super lucky or what!

The first thing I thought of was Li***ing, but then I go for originality instead, don't want them to call me a copycat now... plus I really don't wanna draw a local inspired L****ning. Brainstorming inspirations again, accumulated stress & missing love ones.
Mom, oh mummy! You are the best in the world! I love you so much! Planning, discussing, providing, arguing, helping, understanding, supporting, encouraging, pushing me till the max, gave me appropriate pressure, brainstorming with me, doesn't give up on me, & most importantly, believing in me. You were always by my side, helping me fight through barriers, hear my complains & wiping my tears.

1 July 2012. The Big Day.
Luckily I still can sleep the day before, flung over my Copic bag & off we go, we I meant: Papa & Mama.
On the way: Nervous, sweated hands, desperately searching similar age participants.

 10 seconds before competition ends: Cursing at the tip of muah tongue
Competition ended: Toilet....

 I had never experienced these feelings before until that day.
Prize Presentation Ceremony: F-ing nervous, F-ing desperate, F-ing wanting to snatch the Gold Award & flee.
Announcing names: Nearly dead due to heart attack, reversed blood flow, drastic mood change, mental disorder, FATALITY. Don't call my name, don't call my name, don't call my name, maybe you can call my name, maybe you can call my name, don't call my name, maybe you can call my name, oh please God, come on, come on... OH.

It's my name, at that single second I have never heard of my name being announced so brightly, music to my ears. Mixture of trembling legs with ups & downs, went up the stage & put an end to this.

SATURDAY NIGHT

2nd June

Me & you, went shopping together. But sadly, not alone though, mom, bro & a younger cousin tagged along. First thing in mind- ditch them!

 But I'm not very good at ditching people so it was unsuccessful. But good thing was, mom & bro went to the food corner & we were allowed to shop together~

 It was quite an old shopping complex, & most of the stalls had closed down, if you went deep enough, its like an abandon building. Somehow gave me the creeps.

& so, I brought you to an accessories shop, remembered how I wanted to have my own accessories shop? We found Fang's earrings & Vanille's bracelets. We had fun in the accessories shop too, constantly lifting up your red shirt to see how slim your waist is, sorry, bad habit of mine.

Then, something came up which  I can't remember what was that so I left & I told you to wait there. Running across the empty shopping complex, I went to the food corner to meet with my mom, I sit there, an inaudible dialogue between me & mom, I left & ran across the shopping complex again.

I couldn't find you.

The scene changed to a forest, it's in the evening, tall brick walls surrounded on my left while trees were on my right. There was only one road, I followed the trail. On the way, there was a treasure chest, I opened it & found a crest, I took the crest & continued moving forward.

It's a dead end. A huge wall was blocking, there was no other way except heading back. At the last minute, a dented shape was seen few meters up the wall. I climbed up the wall, took the crest out & inserted it into the wall. Seconds later, the whole wall collapsed, gushing out a tsunami & I was washed away.

I was washed into a church. it was dark, the only light was the reflections of a thousand dim candles on the chandelier. There was stairs, a thousand steps, covered with dark red carpets. At the top of the stairs, a gold altar & a church organ playing Vampire Knight, no one was playing it.

I HAD SURVIVED...

I know I shouldn't blame you but...
I'M INFECTED BY YOU! BROTHER DEAR!

There goes my wonderful holiday, baking camp, friends & alone time with my dearest. & why is that? It's because I'm infected by my contagious brother that had a disease called mouth, hand & foot disease.

Well, shouldn't blame him too much, he didn't want to get infected too. & so I thought I have a strong enough immune system, proving me wrong, I fell sick.

First, you will feel cold, chilling in your bones under your skin, blurry vision & intense headache. & when all those add up together, you can't even stand on your feet & you feel like a sucker. Now you are officially a sick person, you have to get help, take leave, swallow your pills & curl up in your bed. Plus you can't get contact with anyone! ANYONE!

At this stage, keep your meds near you, do not even try to go out & have fun, because eventually you'll get another virus's attack & being forced to sent home. You will get fever for a couple of days, get tough & surpass this, as there will be another wave of suffering coming up next.

Okay, you are free from fever now, make sure you drink lots of water, appreciate that you can even swallow your own saliva because you can't even talk later. Okay, I'm exaggerating... white spots will appear at the wall of your throat, those white spots are ulcers. When you are drinking- it feels like you are swallowing knifes, when you are eating- it feels like you are applying salt on your ulcers, when you are eating solids- it feels like you are using salt to scratch your ulcers. Whats even worst? you told your mom how bad your condition was but she say that you are just weak & can't stand the pain.

You will fear the power of itchiness! Yes, you will spend the whole day scratching your feet & palms. The more you scratch, the more itchiness you'll feel. Adults told you not to scratch? No use! You'll scratch anyway! Itchiness can make you insane, believe that. The next day, you will find cute little red spots crawling on your skin~ sobs, I'm going to cry now.You will have to struggle with all these hideous red spots. Good luck.

& a lil update, get ready for skin-peel session!

Well, that's all of the symptoms you can get, remember, if you got infected by sickness of any kind, please be considerate by staying at home & avoid interacting with others, because you can cause sufferings to people, & people will curse you...

Okay well, hope I'll get immunity or stronger antibodies after this. If any one who interacted with me & had got sick, I'm truly sorry & hope for your fast recovery.

FRIDAY NIGHT

1st June

I was sitting in a car, drove by my mom, probably? We are on a road, dark green pine trees at the side, on our way to a certain place. There was this white cement gate on the left, there, in a middle of the road, a girl with long hair tied up in a ponytail, wearing a butler uniform- long white sleeve buttoned up shirt, black vest & long sleek pants, she was holding a phone, sms-ing I guess. But what was she doing sms-ing in the middle of a road in a butler uniform? That was what I am thinking back then.

 Ignoring the girl, we went in the gate, young people dress in uniforms indicate they were students, sitting in gondolas by the road side. Along the road, the same pine trees were still there, brick-white Roman-style buildings, naked baby angels everywhere. Students with the same uniform strolling around, that means I am in a school then? A luxurious academy?

 The scene changes, still in the academy, I was dropped off at somewhere, a hallway, then my mom said bye & drove off. Now... what am I doing here? I stood there, looking out from the window, clueless.

Ah, here comes Joey, to my surprise, she was wearing the same butler uniform as the girl I first saw.

" Yui, Yui!" Oh...Joey always yell like that when she need something. " We need your help!" What help?

& the next thing I remember was... I was in a butler uniform.

" Hey, Yui! There's another order!" " Yui! Take these to table 6!" " Yui! Get that customer over there!" " Yui...!"

...& I was serving customers.

Thanks to Joey's explanation which God knows when she explained to me, I was in a academy where a cultural festival was going on, & she was the one in charge of a club that decided on having a butler cafe. Her male butlers bailed on her so she was now searching for anyone who could take up these replacements. So, she was finding victims.

& I happened to be one of her victims, forced to wear sleek pants that I don't usually fond of, my hair was tied into a bun, white sleeves folded halfway & a pair of boots. I am not sure if I look handsome in those but totally got annoyed because I even had to bind my chest. Is this cosplaying?

Then, you came.
Standing at the front door, you were wearing a flapped coat, like Gil Ra Im in Secret Garden, you put down your slightly brown hair, & I remembered you have a frown on your face, near the eyebrows.

Immediately, I rushed to hug you, probably having the thought of you were my savior that can get me out of this place. You won't know how happy I was to get to see you there. You saved me from those crazy female student's fan girl squeals & moe eyes. Uggh...

You were still frowning, you knew how scary it is to have you being angry, so I tried to ask you what's the matter, but the next thing you did was pulling me out of the cafe, leaving disappointments on all of those female student's face.

Then, I'm awake.

AFTER THE EXAM

Exam's over! But time flies, I'm sure in a blink of an eye, another exam will be around the corner. Well, it's the reality, right?

Exam, are you studying for education? Or are you studying for knowledge? Listen here folks, education and knowledge ain't the same thing, y'know?

Education, in the past exam, many examples came across. People that cramp before the night, people who stayed up late, & people who set their alarms in the midnight to wake their ass up and munching dictionaries. -No Offense-. Cramp study, I've done that too, pretty much. Stayed up late, much impressed. Wake up in the midnight, greatly impressed. I really am wondering, doesn't that make you tired and less concentration in your papers? & so the marks were given, proving me wrong, they got the highest marks, greatly deeply marvelously impressed. They have extremely huge brain storage, able to sustain heavy eye bags & I call them god. Why do we need education? For a cert, a qualification,  for that piece of paper, a stepping stone for higher education, a man-made satisfaction. & yes, manage to get a good grip, you'll overtake pressure, if not, pressure overtakes you. But nowadays, people buys certs, what is the use of education now? While some places we can often see teachers feeding their students, so full they'll just spit it all out when it's exam. -Still, No Offense-

Knowledge, it's everywhere, down the street, across the road, under a roof, back in the alley... Knowledge is the basis in living, accumulating experience, what mom nags in our daily lives. It is said that our ancestors who discover mines & building castles, hunting wild boars have much more knowledge than the townspeople. They observe, discover, learn, understand, practice, teach. While people nowadays, left ear in, right ear out, wonderful and peaceful life, end of story. -Really, No Offense-

I might not be the one who bring home the A's, but I still have the right to voice out right?  Imagine how the future will be, memorizing the yellow page. Awesome disciplined people like overseas, lecturers there doesn't feed their students with upcoming exam tips, or according by chapters. They teach them how to study by our own, how to learn and observe.

The dreadful SPM year had arrived, god bless & good luck to all my friends surrounded by pressure, indecisive future lives & insomnia.
